Whoever talks about driving must be able to slow down - KTR is a manufacturer of brakes based in Rheine. The "Competence Center for Brake Systems" is located in Schloß-Holte-Stukenbrock in Eastern Westphalia and is the headquarters of KTR Brake Systems GmbH.
Being one of the few manufacturers worldwide KTR provides two different brake systems: the hydraulic KTR-STOP and the electromechanical EMB-STOP system. Our hydraulic and electromechanical brake systems are globally used in various industries. Customer preference and parameters of the application decide upon the selection of the right brake.
Our range of floating caliper brakes includes passive and active floating caliper brakes, each as a hydraulic or electromechanical version.
Our range of fixed caliper brakes covers passive and active fixed caliper brakes in a hydraulic version.
YAW brake as a holding brake or service brake
KTR-STOP YAW brakes are yaw brakes protecting wind turbines effectively against windsweeping and pulsating loads.
Our yaw brakes develop their strength when aligning and holding a wind turbine; they can also be used as a holding brake on rotary drives (e.g. swivel head on the excavator) or other industrial drives.
In the version with retraction springs they can also be used as a service brake.
Thruster brakes from KTR: Disk or drum brake with settable braking torque
KTR-STOP TB as a disk brake or drum brake:
Our thruster brakes are available as disk brakes (KTR-STOP TB S) or as drum brakes (KTR-STOP TB T).
On request, the electrohydraulic braking systems can be fitted with other technical options, e.g. automatic wear readjustment unit, manual blower, limit switch (for braking condition and pad wear) or incidence attenuation.
For ship propulsion up to 25 MW per propeller shaft
EMB-STOP SBT (Stop Block Turn brake) is made up of one or several disk brakes, locking elements and turn devices.
Our SBT devices (Stopping - Blocking - Turning) are mainly used on propeller shafts in marine applications: ranging from small yachts to cruise ships or large supply vessels.
Reliable locking bolts / locking systems for wind turbines
Our portfolio of caliper brakes comprises active and passive brakes, each as a pneumatic type.
